The God Who Paused
The God Who Paused
Genesis 2:2–3
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested…”
Before there was sin, there was Sabbath. Before we ever knew stress, God modeled stillness. He didn’t rest because He was tired—He rested to show us a better rhythm. Rest wasn’t added later as a fix for burnout. It was woven into the fabric of creation.
Today, what would it look like for you to pause—not because you're finished, but because you're faithful? Don’t just work hard. Rest holy.
Reflection: Have you believed rest is only for when you're done? What if rest is actually part of your obedience?
