DAY 1 - RETURN
DAY 1 - RETURN
Scripture: “Return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” Joel 2:12
Fasting begins with a return. Not a restart. Not a reinvention. A return.
God doesn’t ask us to come to Him perfect, He asks us to come honest. Joel’s invitation isn’t about behavior modification; it’s about heart realignment. “Return to Me with all your heart.” Not half-hearted. Not distracted. Not multitasking faith.
So much of our spiritual drift doesn’t happen overnight. It happens gradually - small compromises, crowded schedules, quiet neglect. And before we realize it, we’re still doing church things, but our hearts are far from God. Today isn’t about what you’ve done wrong. It’s about who you’re coming back to.
Return looks like surrender. Return looks like humility.
Return looks like saying, “God, I don’t want what’s pulled me away anymore.”
Before we ask God to move in our lives, we return to Him with our lives.
Prayer:
God, I return to You today. Search my heart. Remove anything that has taken Your place. Restore my hunger for You. I don’t want to visit Your presence, I want to dwell there. God, we pray for our city to return. That every person seated in high places, comes to know a relationship with you. We prayer a return to you in our schools, in our homes, in our streets, in the clubs, in every space and sphere of our city. We're broken God. We drift, we fall, we've separated from you. Today, we pray for a return back to you. Bring revival as we return to you today. Let it start with me. Amen.
