Day 3 - RENEWAL
RENEW
Scripture:
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Most of us don’t feel weak because we’ve stopped moving. We feel weak because we’ve been moving without being renewed. We live in a culture that celebrates hustle but ignores health, applauds activity but neglects alignment. Over time, that pace takes a toll. We keep going, but our strength slowly drains. Faith becomes duty. Prayer becomes rushed. Joy becomes optional. Renewal reminds us that strength isn’t found in striving harder, it’s found in waiting well.
Isaiah doesn’t say renewal comes to those who push the hardest or try the longest. It comes to those who wait on the Lord. Waiting isn’t passive; it’s posture. It’s a decision to trust God as our source instead of ourselves. We often run to God when we’re exhausted, but renewal comes when we learn to rest in Him before we’re empty.
Many of us are carrying things God never asked us to carry:
To wait on the Lord is not to pause life; it’s to realign life.
Waiting means:
Isaiah paints a powerful picture: strength is renewed, not replaced. God doesn’t just give us enough to survive; He gives us strength to soar, to run, and to walk.
Different seasons require different strength.
Some days you soar. Some days you run. Some days you simply walk forward faithfully.
All of it is renewal.
Fasting exposes what we’ve been leaning on and invites us to lean fully on God. When physical strength is limited, spiritual strength becomes essential. What feels like weakness in the flesh becomes dependence in the Spirit.
If you feel tired during this fast, don’t be discouraged. God is reminding you where your true strength comes from. Renewal often feels quiet before it feels powerful.
God’s renewal doesn’t just energize us for a moment - it sustains us for the journey. The goal isn’t a spiritual high; it’s a faithful life.
When we wait on the Lord:
Prayer:
Lord, renew my strength today. Where I am weary, give me endurance. Where I am rushed, teach me to wait. Help me rely on You as my source, not my own ability. I trust You to sustain me for what lies ahead. Amen.

Many of us are carrying things God never asked us to carry:
- Expectations we placed on ourselves
- Pressure to keep up appearances
- Responsibilities we assumed without prayer
To wait on the Lord is not to pause life; it’s to realign life.
Waiting means:
- Letting God reset our pace
- Allowing His presence to reshape our priorities
- Trusting His timing over our urgency

When we wait on the Lord:
- Burnout is replaced with endurance
- Exhaustion gives way to expectancy
- Faith is restored where fear once lived
Prayer:
Lord, renew my strength today. Where I am weary, give me endurance. Where I am rushed, teach me to wait. Help me rely on You as my source, not my own ability. I trust You to sustain me for what lies ahead. Amen.
